A Kampala Capital City Authority Engineer has been arrested by Uganda police force after the building in Makindye division kelzia zone collapsed last night due to faults arising from a fact that the said building lacked an Architectural plan.

The four storyed building collapsed yesterday night trapping very many people underground as reported earlier by the daily parrot news though efforts are being made to rescue the people who are trapped with hopes of finding some people alive. The building makes the total tally of buildings that have collapsed due to poor architectural planning to three with the first two collapsing not less than 6 months ago in the same division in Kampala.

The Engineer who was doubling as the supervisor (name withheld) is now under police cells as investigations continue into the matter, police confirmed.

Kampala lord mayor Mr Erias Lukwgo rushed to the site this morning and strongly condemned the recklessness being exhibited by these Engineers and cautioned against the construction of such buildings without any formal Architectural plans.
