Kabale police arrests two brothers over mob justice.

Police in Kabale has detained two people for allegedly battering a 33 year old man after they accused him of stealing a mobile phone.

The Kigezi Region Spokesperson Elly Maate has identified the suspects as Arinda Louis 23, and Birungi John Fisher 20 . The two are brothers and residents of Rwamukundi cell Mwanjari ward Southern division Kabale Municipality.

They allegedly assaulted one Bwete Tonny 33, a business man from Kekuubo in Kirigime ward Southern Division.

The incident happened at at Kiwel's pork joint in Kekubo where the trio was watching a football match between English Premier League clubs Arsenal and Tottenham.

It's alleged that while they were watching the football match , one of the arrested men lost his phone and suspected Tonny to be the one who had stolen it.

They mobilised others and badly battered him but unfortunately during the assault, the phone was discovered from the room they were earlier watching from.

According to Maate, after they were alerted, Police rushed there and arrested the two suspects who are now in custody at Kabale Police station.

Maate added that a case of assault has been registered with reference number 44/12/7/2020 while police continues with Inquiries.
