Jinja city National Unity platform coordinator breaks silence over her arrest

The National Unity Platform party women coordinator in Jinja city, Manjeri Kyebakutika is accusing police of torturing her following her arrest over the weekend for donning a red beret in public while trying to execute her duties as the party coordinator woemns wing of the newly created jinja city as the New political party makes its way into branding itself in the stone city.

Ms Kyebakutika was arrested while prisideng over party activities that led to the gathering of so many people in the central business centre of jnja on Saturday, an act which according to ploce violates the standard operating procedures of the ministry of health as they expose Ugandans in jinja at the risk of contracting coronavirus.

According to Ms Kyebakutika, she says she was brutally tortured and beaten severely and left in seriously nastly condition by police officers upon her arrest though she declined exposing the names of the offices who tortured her and currently she is nursing wounds and chest pains at a clinic in jinja.

By press time, people power president-general Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi had not yet given their remarks about the incident.
